If you’re experiencing ear discomfort, blocked ears, or reduced hearing due to earwax buildup, our ear irrigation service offers a safe and effective solution. During your consultation, a trained clinician will assess your symptoms, examine your ears using an otoscope, and determine whether ear irrigation is appropriate for you.
What to Expect During Your Consultation:
Medical History Review – We’ll ask about your general health, ear care routine, and any history of ear infections or surgery.
Ear Examination – Using a gentle otoscope, your clinician will inspect your ear canal to check for wax buildup or any signs of infection or damage.
Treatment Suitability – If earwax is the cause of your symptoms and irrigation is deemed safe, we will proceed with treatment or schedule it accordingly.
Advice and Aftercare – You'll receive guidance on how to care for your ears after the procedure and how to prevent future wax build up.
Important Information:
Ear irrigation may not be performed if you have a perforated eardrum, an active ear infection, or certain other medical conditions.
In some cases, softening drops may be recommended 3–5 days before your appointment to make the procedure more effective.

Ear irrigation is a safe and commonly used method for removing excess earwax that may be causing discomfort, blockage, or reduced hearing. Our consultation and treatment process is designed to ensure your safety and comfort every step of the way.
What Happens During Your Visit:
Initial Consultation
Your appointment will begin with a brief medical history, including any past ear problems such as infections, perforated eardrums, or surgeries.
A clinician will then examine your ears using an otoscope to confirm whether earwax is present and if irrigation is the best option for removal.
2. The Irrigation Process
If suitable, we will proceed with ear irrigation using a gentle stream of warm water delivered via a specialized device.
The water softens and flushes out built-up wax from the ear canal. You may feel a sensation of warmth and pressure, but the process is generally painless and quick.
The procedure is done under controlled pressure to avoid any risk of damage to the ear.
3. Post-Treatment Check
After irrigation, your ears will be re-examined to ensure the wax has been fully removed, your ear canal is clear and your Tympanic Membrane is visible
If needed, a second flush may be performed or an alternative method recommended.
4. Aftercare Advice
You'll be given advice on how to care for your ears post-treatment, including tips on preventing wax buildup and when to seek future care.
